I have ghsv1newly diagnosed Can someone have a herpes sore on their wrist or calves or shins? Can one auto innoculate and have sores show up there? I have what is a pimple like thing and not sure if its just ingrown hair or a herpes sore. From what i read to transfer it has to be "scrubbed" into a new area? Thanks.

Think about coming off the antivirals after a few months and letting your body address the virus. Genital HSV1 can be very tame and not cause outbreaks. Shedding is already very low for most people. Most of your partners will have HSV1 already hence antivirals for their protection is not required.

I was dianosed via swab test from sore. Ive had only one other ob  since the primary one. It did cause lesions. Im on valtrex, 1 side effect is red bumps on skin. Im thinking that was it is...except thy say that an ob could just be red bumps, its hard to realy tell if there arent any blisters.

How have you been diagnosed with genital HSV1?

With genital HSV1, there is a large chance, about 50%, that you won't have another outbreak more than 3 months beyond the first one.

Any recurrences are likely to be a single small lesion on your genitals and have a frequency, if you have them, of annually on average.

It is very difficult to become infected in another location, not impossible, just very difficult such that what you have is most likely something different.
