Bumps on Penis x 2yrs

My husband had noticed these bumps on the head of his penis a few years ago following an affair. He knows the woman has herpes and worries could have HPV too. Right when he noticed it he began to wear condoms and since nothing has changed in two years we are thinking.. maybe it was an over reaction to what could be a normal tissue variation. We were both tested for STDs at the appropriate time after his affair.  They were all negative.  He had taken a round of anti-virals for the herpies.  I was told by one ID person that the antivirals might cause a false neg on the herpies test and that he might want to do it one more time.  I don't think it's is herpies.  What should we do. Is there anything I can to to protect myself.  I do have a photo I can try to attach.  It will probably come separately if I am able to get it on here.  Thanks

Howdy, your photo does not post as far as I can tell.  Also, I can't think of a single valid reason to not go to a derm but I'll trust you on this one with a raised eyebrow.  Anyway.  Good luck.  Feel free to update or not.

Cheers

Thank you for your post.  I am really looking for Dr's opinions based on the photo I have attached to my profile.  That is the only way I could find to get it on Med Help.  I may have missed something. Did you see it?   It was taken with a zoom lens.  However, you can see the size relative to the anatomy.    We have had some medical advice but fear that it may not be accurate. There are unusual and very valid reasons why he has not seen a dermatologist.  You will have to just trust me on that.

Yes you are right, it does seem to act most like warts.  Just would like to see an ID doc or a Dermatologist comment on the photo.  Hope one of them picks up on this post.
Thanks, for your input. Your comments are helpful.

Greetings and welcome to the medhelp HPV forum.

After two years, why has your husband not gone to a dermatologist?  If it was herpes the bumps would be like pimples and come and go.  If they are there always then it could be HPV warts.  They can do basically whatever they want although there is usually a set pattern that allows their behaviour to be categorized.  Still, they can be small, they can grow, they can not grow, there can be one, there can be multiple, there can be clusters, they can look different from other people warts.  Also, supposedly, if left untreated, your immune system will fight them off in a couple years or so, sometimes a bit less, sometimes a bit more, but I don't know much about untreated warts.  Most people have the warts removed.

Send him into the doctor or to a dermatologist and find out.  That's all you can do.  As far as herpes, I'm no expert, but I read that it is possible to have herpes and not have the break outs.  That's all I can say about that.
