When I first noticed the bump, I went to the doctor. He tested me, and I came back positive for HSV2. I started taking suppressive meds (acyclovir 800mg/day). The bump popped, diminished, then a month later came back, still no itch, no pain. I'm thinking this is a HSV2 outbreak and treat it with increased acyclovir. Time goes by and I'm asking questions on the HSV bulletin boards, and its not adding up. Finally I figure out it must be a wart. I get the medicine and the wart goes away in 3 days. I'm convinced now that I was infected for the whole period, although for much of it there was no visible wart, only a bump below the skin.
Now the question... Over a period of 16 weeks I had sex with my lady 16 times always unprotected. Of the 16 about half were oral, which I understand, is an unlikely way to transmit. Of the 8 vaginal, half of them were in a hot tub, with good chlorine/ bromine. I think I read that the virus cannot live in that environment. The whole time I was on Acyclovir. What are the chances I transmitted the infection?
I understand there is no exact answer for this question.
Thanks,
