Hello,
HPV is transmitted through skin-to-skin contact, usually during sexual intercourse. It can also be transmitted through oral sex. It cannot be spread by kissing, toilet seats, bedding, door knobs, swimming pools, hot tubs, shared clothing or eating utensils.
If you are having discomfort on the tongue then get it checked from your doctor to confirm the diagnosis.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Oral to genital contact is needed to contract HPV orally, even so it is usually asymptomatic and causes no problem. If you are worried that you may be developing warts see a dentist or a oral surgeon
