Is it possible to have contracted Oral HPV without having kissing or performing oral sex on another person??? I am having discomfort on the back of my tongue I am wondering if this could be HPV?? How is HPV transmitted

Hello,
HPV is transmitted through skin-to-skin contact, usually during sexual intercourse. It can also be transmitted through oral sex. It cannot be spread by kissing, toilet seats, bedding, door knobs, swimming pools, hot tubs, shared clothing or eating utensils.
If you are having discomfort on the tongue then get it checked from your doctor to confirm the diagnosis.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. Oral to genital contact is needed to contract HPV orally, even so it is usually asymptomatic and causes no problem. If you are worried that you may be developing warts see a dentist or a oral surgeon
