Doctor says to wait- genital warts

My doctor told me I had genital warts.
She was very blase about it and said there was only a few internally which were the size of a pinhead.
She said I should just wait for them to go away.
I went back the next week and asked her to remove some. She put some acid on a few, said that i wouldn't have to come back as they were small and seemed to indicate that there were some she had not treated as they were in sensitive areas.
Again she said i should just wait for them to go away. We discussed boosting my immune system.I think i can see some at the opening but its hard to tell.
I have a bf with no symptoms. I am concerned about him getting them. I am especially frantic about him not performing oral sex on me.
Is my doctor giving me sounds advice? I'm confused.

I experienced itching with mine, and before even mentioning this to my doctor, she asked if I experienced any itchy. I think it's a fairly common symptom.

You need to change docs. I just can't understand why that doc would tell you that you got gential warts from a wart on your hand. Have they texted you to make sure you even have HPV? If you can't see the warts what did she do to determine that you do have them internally? While low risk HPV warts can be found inside they are more often found externally in the gential area. A high risk strain (s) causes cell changes on the cervix and is found with a pap. No, warts are not related to itching or pain.

Warts usually show up between 3 to 8 months post exposure. Though some people have it show up later or have flare ups, warts are typical of a new infection with HPV. HPV is spread via skin to skin contact so even protected sex is not 100% safe. The shots are good and protect you from the strains that are most often the cause of cancer issues as well as warts. When you have the shot it can help the symptoms reduced. There are almost 40 gentail strains so shots wont make protect you from all of these.

Yes, find a doc who can confirm what you have and start treatment. With warts it is good to treat early as it takes less time and treatments.

I guess I am also confused because in the 18 months in between the two partners I had the gardasil shot. My doctor said I probably just had a different strain- but she also said I maybe caught it from a wart on my hand which I'm almost 100% sure is wrong. Does this mean it was dormant for 18 months and the shot was useless? Sorry for all these questions!

Thankyou for your answers.
I looked at your pictures mags but it's quite difficult for me to see mine as they are inside the opening and they don't protrude at all.
I put vinegar on them, is that useless?
I guess I'm nervous about going to another doctor. I initially felt some itching and it took 3 doctors before anyone mentioned warts. Then my 3rd doctor still said the itching probably was not related.
Would it be better for me to go to a sexual health clinic? Will they treat them straight away?
I feel a bit confused. I have had only had 2 partners- neither have ever shown symptoms. One was over 18 months ago and the other one I only started sleeping with 2 months ago. My doctor told me to just forget about it but it seems so unlucky- I've never even had unprotected sex with my current partner.
Thanks for the water tip vandykd- I'm not big on water ha ha. I try so hard with everything else immunity wise though

You can look at my pics to see what mine look like. It is better to treat warts early as it takes less treatments and for me I am so glad I did because I started getting more each week. The acid took care of most of them, I only have two now and using Aldara is a slow process for me.

We use condoms to try and prevent him getting my warts, even though we had unprotected sex prior to my finding out I have them. I perform oral with flavored condoms and we agree he wont give me oral til my symptoms are gone..for good. Honestly we are more intimate and loving with all of this. I think being open and dealing with it together helps. I also find buying a good lube helps with the lack or oral sex to stimulate me.

yes and no.  Your doctor is right in many ways but as so often the case with medical professionals they don't get too fired up about HPV because it's so common and also rarely has side effects.

If you only have had one doctor so far, consider getting a different one or going to a dermatologist.  You may find one that is a better is my guess.

As far as your boyfriend.  If you do have warts, and I'm not entirely sure you do but believe you if you say it's true, anyway, if you have warts and have had unprotected sex then most likely he has been exposed and might start showing his own warts in the upcomng months to half a year.  Perhaps he won't though.  It is a nuisance at worst for men and women alike though decidedly less so for men as we have it all on the outside.

There is a risk of oral transfer with HPV.  It is quite low and so I don't really know how to advise on that subject.  If it's a mind F..k, then it's gonna be strange for a while as you don't want alll those what ifs going on in his head while he's pleasuring you.

Your doctor wants you to wait it out because your body does fight them off sooner or later.  It could take up to two years for this however but not necessarily.

Your best best might be a second opinion.

Immune system:  Water is key, boost your water intake drastically, you'll be amazed how much more fits in your body.  Take the vitamins and reduce or eliminate alcohol and that sort of thing.  Try your best to avoid high stress and all that good stuff.  It could help you a lot but it's not anything you can quantify.

This post is a bit disjointed but I hope it helps some.

Good luck.
