HPV/Cancer Cells

My boyfriend and I broke up for a few months, he said he was not with anyone else. We got back together in April and after a couple of months I noticed that I had genital warts. Went to the doctor in September and found out that I have HPV/Genital Warts and Cancer Cells. We have since broken up, I never told him about this, was to embarrased! I have no health insurance to take care of this problem. My vaginal area is now very red and very swollen with alot of discharge. It is hard sometimes to walk or sit. The warts are gone now though. Could I have cervical cancer? How long does it take for the cells to develope into the cancer?

That's is strange about sunshine's post.  What happened to her?  I wonder if she asked to have them deleted?

Anyway, buy a good multi-vitamin and some folic acid.  The folic acid is cheap.  If you want, you could buy a prenatal vitamin at CVS.  That will have everything you will need in one easy vitamin.

hey desertgirl, I am doing fine.  It's cold here tonight.  My man is coming home tomorrow so am anxiously awaiting his arrival.  I hope you feel better soon.  You are probably ok but you just got to get yourself checked out.  Do you take vitamins or do yoga or anything?  Also, eat a lot of vegetables to keep your immune system up.  Stay away from carbs, junk food and sugary stuff.  That will drain your immune system and most importantly, won't give you the nutrition that you need.   Hang in there girlie...things will get better.  You are so young, younger than me.  You can really turn things around if you just take baby steps with everything.  Remember to post back here once you see the dr.

Like sunshine says, pre-cancerous cells don't always progress into cancer.  In fact most times they don't.  However, this is not to say that you shouldn't be seeing a dr. so that they can keep an eye on them.    I know we have spoken before and I really think that you need to find a way to get on medicare or find a free clinic - Planned Parenthood, social agency, any place - and have yourself properly diagnosed and if need be, get treatment.   I know this will be hard since you live in a small town, but there really is no choice anymore.  Hope things get better for you.  Keep us posted!
