You are quite MISTAKEN..It doesn't go just one way.. It goes both ways! It can be tranfered from males to females, and females to male....Anyone who has an outbreak, can pass the disease onto another human being..... It's not just a male thing.... Anyone who has the virus can pass it along to another if they are in outbreak motion.....
I'm sorry but where people get these facts is beyond me. I think people need to do a little more reading on STD'S before they go giving advice.. I have delt with this for over 10 years.... My mother had HPV which turned into cervical cancer that eventually killed my mother.... So I have some experience in this... I just think people need to research better ........
penile cancer caused by HPV is rare in the USA and about a 2% rate in uncircumsized males worldwide.Bladder infections, urethritis and other disorders left unattended are more common with men.Google the topic Penile Cancer in Men..lot of interesting info on the web for this!
I will have to correct adam10bb on this one. Men are NOT the only ones who can give females HPV. Any form of sexual contact can cause HPV, whether it be male or female. Also men DO have symptoms of HPV, they will have visible warts. These warts do not always go away on their own or they can disappear as quickly as they showed up without medical attention.(low risk HPV will cause the warts, high risk HPV will cause cervical dysplasia and cancer)
I will say that if it was over a year ago then you probably gave HPV to her but it might not be the cervical cancer causing kind, that form does not cause warts from what I have learned. From what I am aware of there are no indications that penile cancer and HPV are connected, but they may be, I just have never seen any studies on it.
I was diagnosed with HPV a year ago and my partner(who is male) did get HPV and visible warts.
Good luck and I hope everything goes well.
Males are only the ones who can given a woman HPV, it does not affect the male at all, except to give it to the female, and having one small bump, that went away is usually nothing to worry about. It probably was just an ingrownhair. If any should return then yes, I would go and have it checked out. You should be checked for Chlamydia a (STD) and HIV, that would be the adult thing to do, for both you and your girlfriend.
I hope this helps.
