I'm not really sure what else could make you have an abnormal pap, but I do know that what will probobly happen is your dr. will give you treatment (whether its lazer or some other kind) to eliminate the overgrowth of cells...keep your imune system up, and practice healthy habbits, and not only will it lower the chances of persistant infection, but also it will eventually help you to irradicate the virus completely (sometime between 6 months to 2 yrs). keep your head up. ps, although you will have to keep up with your paps more regularly if you have the high risk, you wont have to look out for warts. there's only two strings of hpv which can actually cause visable warts, and their not high risk types. most women CAN and DO clear their body of the virus. Not everyone knows this at first, so i'm trying to spread the word. Some doctors will say that it goes away, while others stick with the theory that "all viruses are forever", so it can be terrably confusing to people who first realize they have or might have hpv. Even the FDA stated in one of their articles that most women can irradicate the virus within 2 years....Good luck to you, and i hope all goes well.
