HPV time for appearance
Can HPV warts appear in day on mouth after exposure? I want to know if they can appear that fast, everything on the web talks about a span of time, but not the shortest possible time.
And secondly, do they tingle and pain like cold sore appearance?

Thank you for taking the time to write that post. I appreciate what you are saying. But to conclude this, as this conversation has gone far off the original post which isn't right or fair, I just want you (and everyone else who thinks I'm clearly mad) that I am not the type of person to generally freak out about stuff. I am usually very easy going and enjoy life, even the challenges it throws me. I make the most of every minute and every opportunity. Positivity breads positivity. However this has just floored me. I have had stds in the past and didn't really freak out about it. Got it sorted and moved on. I have been terribly ill with regards to symptoms and definitely not imagining things that I can actually see that are different and changing in front of my eyes, not just those that I feel, which I could understand to be anxiety and the mind exaggerating things. I know my body very well too. I'm simply exhausted trying to get this sorted with doctors who won't listen. Hence why I have turned to the internet. Again something that I never do. Time will only tell how this will end, but in the meantime I think I'll stop looking for answers, bail out, and open bottle after bottle of wine. Thanks again for trying to help. Well, I wish I knew what to say about all of this. It stinks of two things, (in no particular order) you freaking out and going down the road of worst case scenarios and anxiety mode, and the doctors not being up to their job.
Seven years ago I slept with a girl unprotected who had an unsavory past. At the same time my father passed away. I was a wreck from STD fear and grief and the sides of my mouth split open with fever blisters. I spent a very long time positive I had herpes. I don't. I had a blood test done years later and not a single hsv antibody was found.
Another time I discovered little white bumps all over my lips when I used my fingers to flip them up and open and stretched them all out. The bumps were everywhere, maybe a hundred of them. I was convinced I had genital warts on my lips and thought so for at lest three months. I even went to the doctor at school but they didn't know what they were. It turns out that they are fordyce spots, a natural occurrence in some people. You can't even see mine unless you mess around a lot but I found them and freaked.
Another time I decided to experiment with shaving my stuff up down there. The first or second time afterwards I noticed a bump at the bottom of the shaft. I freaked out and was convinced I had a wart. I thought so for weeks but then went to my school doctor and they told me it was a cyst that had grown over on of the hair follicles I'd shaved. I had that bump for damn near a decade, unchanged, and only now have had it removed because, well, I actually do have warts now and just had them burn it off to.
What else, oh, I injured my vocal cords once and had to go to the doctor for it. In yoga class, when stretching my head back, this can be aggravated. When I got diagnosed with HPV, I turned this previous symptom into vocal cord warts and went to the doctor three times begging to be sent to an ear nose and throat specialist to look down my vocal cords for warts. I was convinced I had warts on my cords and I would be that stat that gets m...f...ing throat cancer. I found three bumps on the underside of my tongue which I have no recollection of them being there before (I mean, why look before you know. No one thinks of it). I had them burned off with the electric cauterizer but the derm didn't know if they were warts or not. They probably weren't.
All this goes to show that the mind is a terrible trick player. You may have some strange things going on but try really hard to put in on your anxiety and fears as much as possible. But, and I stress this, if you have a doctor who is not doing it for you, and whom you suspect is not good enough for this (I had a doctor who did not know what fordyce spots were for crying out loud! I diagnosed myself.), then you need to voice those concerns because part of what a doctor does is alleviate out fears as well and you clearly need that. If they say it's not warts then they had better have some explanation that you can research yourself and perhaps see some pics of online to help you realize you are merely tripping out.

I'm fed up and exhausted. Not going back to the doctors. If I spread warts to somebody else then I'll know and go back with that person and tell the doc they had to be wrong and demand they do something. I will be very angry. But nobody is helping so I can only live by what they tell me-and that is I'm fine. Time will tell! As for my mouth, I'll get a dentist to look. Worth a try.
Yeah, your doctor sounds pretty lame. Find one who is compassionate as well as learned.
Then I would find a doctor who would take a look. You deserve to get some doctor who will help you!

Puzzle, I agree 100% with what vandykd wrote. What you feel is likely something else, not any STD. I don't know if your doctor looked in your mouth or refuses to, out of thinking Oral warts are too rare. If the doctor did take a look and said it is normal, doc may be right.
Thanks. It is the most terrible feeling in the world to know your body is going through some major changes and you are really suffering and not one doctor will just listen and help you sort it out. Surely doctors are there for mental health too so if they see a patient so stressed out surely they should do every test possible to put their mind at rest. Not so. Instead I get hurried out of the room with the attitude I'm wasting their time. Obviously I do not want to have anything turn out to be positive but if it is I will take great pleasure in calling every single one of those doctors and tell them I was right! Rant over. Sorry.
puzzle, I've read your posts recently and don't know if I've ever commented on them because I really don't have any "expertise" with what you've been dealing with. I can tell you that I totally sympathize with the mouth and throat fears. My guess with you is that what's going on in your throat is probably just made up fears. I did it too and lived countless sleepless nights while worrying about this. As far as your other issues go. Your options seem clear to me, especially if you have health insurance. Go to an ear, nose, and throat specialist perhaps and have then go down your throat to check it out. Also, find a derm who will send in the growth you speak of to a lab for testing. Find someone who is sympathetic to you cause, someone whose willing to get a little "House" on you. I hate how doctors simply regurgitate facts they learned inschool without thinking for themselves and taking your personal story into account. I want to stress that you probably are not that rare random statistic. But if you are, they should consider ruling it out. You have to be your own advocate with these people and don't take no for an answer.
Hi. Hope you don't mind me butting into your conversation but you may be able to help me. I too am going through major stress that I have oral warts but unfortunately no doctor is willing to help saying it's rare so I won't have it! Rare means rare doesn't it, not impossible! Anyway, if you have both been through this you will undertand what I'm going through and how I feel so could you let me know any research you found. I'm trawling the internet trying to find info or people who have it. I have small bumps appear under my tongue and on the base of my mouth along with what looks like extra skin growth like a fleshy finger. I also get a swollen feeling in my throat with a feeling like there is something stuck in my throat when I swallow. Similar to when you chew nuts and they get stuck in your throat! However this comes and goes so wondering if it was warts on the throat would this symptom never go away. I know these symptoms could be many things but it only started a month after oral sex with a new partner. I am having genital problems too from the encounter so I'm not overreacting. Things are changing in my body and so far doctors aren't taking me too seriously. Therefore any info you have would be hugely helpful with regard to throat and mouth warts-even if it is why you then decided you didn't have it! Thanks.
Agreed, how many pictures of genital warts on google images look like the ones we all have or had! LOL, no wonder I thought my life was over for a while. What I really hate about most websites is the sensationalism like you said, much more common than unfactual info. It angers me that they list truths about HPV but never tell you the chances of each truth so you come away thinking that oral warts and throat cancer are just as every day occurrence as a wart outbreak on your junk. I totally agree with you there. I myself went through the "I have vocal chord warts and cancer fears thanks to them dumb *** sites. Wish we could write to them.

They don't post to the HPV sites. As a result, if you read these sites alll day, you would fool your mind into thinking you will surely get cervical cancer or throat cancer!

Technically yes, but you won't find it anywhere. You'd have to go to a research lab such as the one up at UW in Seattle where the experts that post here do their work for example. There is no way to know whether you have high-risk HPV and no way to know if you have low-risk, wart causing HPV if you don't have a break out.
Can you get the HPV test with or without warts?

It was a single, flesh colored, raised, almost circular bump about 2mm in size. The second one I had was almost exactly the same but a little larger, maybe 3mm and a bit flatter. The next three times I had three or four at a time in the same general area and they were again flesh colored and really small, about 1mm. Though small, I could feel them and if looked at in the light they were totally noticeable as not normal. The derms always agreed it was most likely warts, especially so given the history of having them multiple times.

What did it look like?
Warts don't usually appear extremely quickly although I found a post claiming three days once. I got mine from one of two or both unprotected encounters I had with the same person, and if I was exposed the first time, which is likely, it took two weeks. If I was exposed during the second encounter, also quite likely, then it took two or three days. I am positive I got exposed from these encounters. Two weeks is fairly quick from what most people here say but that's my story.
Not days, usually weeks to months but years also.
