Hi Luvmissy,
From research I've done it is less common to have oral HPV in the throat.
Try not to jump to conclusions about your partner. For men there isn't a test that can really be done for HPV unless they had visible genital warts then it would be obvious.
It might just be a gland in your throat or some other form of irritation. I would advise you to a doctor first so they can examine your mouth and throat to see if there are any bumps or lumps first. Get it diagnosed by a medical professional before you stress out.
Did you ever find answers? I see many people withy the same symptoms on this site all worried for HPV. But after a while they stop posting , and never update their situation. I'm hoping these people got better, and move son with life... and not dead god forbid. It's 2017. I'm sure people from all these years of posts realized what the deal was. I'm going thru a tough time and everyone going thru similar stuff is in my prayers. It makes you go insane, fearing for you future and your life. I know people updating will make others feel assured that it's a common problem that resolves over time , if it gets resolved. Your post is from 2013, I hope you're healthy and happy.
odds are this isn't remotely std related at all.
you need to follow up on this with your doctor this week. odds are it's either irritation from a post nasal drip or due to allergies more than anything else. sometimes chronic GERD can cause it too.
can you contract hpv orally? yes you can. thankfully for the vast majority of people, it never progresses to any obvious disease/cancer.
