Hpv treatment Vyloma

Hello, I am a 43 yr. old female.   I just found out I had HPV in Oct.  If course very scared and freaked out.  This site has really helped me and I thank you for this.

My Dr. gave me Vlyoma.  1x per night for 4 weeks.  I am on my 3rd week but I've had to take a break.  I am extreamly red and swollen. It has cleared the tiny warts that I did have however I can't really tell if they are gone as I think I need to heal.

My questions are:  is this cream simular to Aldera?
Some people say that the redness may not go away,  what about the swelling?

If I take a week off then resume for the last week will it affect the way the treatment is supposed to work?

A lot of my questions are answered on other peoples questions.  I notice lots of communication is from a few years ago.  Is there anyone from back then still in this site ?  If so, can you give me an update on your lives now?  Do you feel like normal people again?

Thanks

Thanks for your input.  I have been married for 20 yes recently single.  It took me forever to be intimate with someone and then when I did...  Bam.  GW???? I'm devistated and petrified of my future.  I do feel better after reading the post on this site.  I am hoping that the ones I had do not return, I want to wait the 6 mth timeframe and move on from this.

People retain miniscule of the virus in their DNA for life. It never goes away. Most people (90%) become not infectious over time. No one knows who is in this 90%. I had a GW cut off after waiting 6 months to fall off by itself. It never came back. Since men cannot be tested, I cannot confirm that I am not infectious now but its been over 18 months and I feel like I am. Certainly if a doctor were to do a biopsy of my genital skin (thighs, butt, scrotum, base of penis, etc), small amounts of the virus would be found. This is why condoms offer little protection and so many people get it. Genital skin is barely covered by a condom.

To veryworried420,  how long have you had it? What treatment did or are you having? Did you have GW if so... How long before they went away without coming back?

Yes, most people who recovered their health from this virus are leading healthy (safe) sexual lives. Myself included. I feel very normal esp since most sexually active adults have this anyway.

Hello, thank you for your response.  I stopped the cream for 3 days and I feel much better.  I am continuing for  the rest of this week.  I have to say that this cream is very affective and I had about 10 very tiny ones and the are all gone.  Crossing my fingers .

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Vyloma contains imiquimod which is useful for warts. For small warts several medications(like podophyllum resin, Podofilox (Condylox), Trichloroacetic and bichloroacetic acids, Imiquimod 5% cream and interferons) are available, which can be applied directly to the surface of the warts.Other treatment options include electrical cautery, surgical removal, Carbon dioxide laser treatment and electrodesiccation.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
