hpv after 5 years

Hello, I was diagnosed with HPV (genital warts) At 17, I went through cryotherapy and everything cleared. I have 5 annuals with no abnormal results until now, almost 6 years later. The results came back low grade abnormal cells. I am terrified that this could be the return of the virus. I have a bf of a year and a half and he has no idea about it since I thought it was gone, he has no signs or symptoms of warts and neither do I at least so I think but after the results I am paranoid and think maybe they have. Is it possible for them to come back? I have no other std or illness, I take vitamins and am pretty active.

Yes it is possible its the same strain or a new one from your BF. Guys cannot be tested and so he should go under the assumption that he has it too. This is a very common std and if you are sexually active, you have to assume you have it.

Could be a new infection. There is many different strains of hpv. But I'm not a medical professional
