Non-genital wart HPV in males?

Hello,

About a year back, my girlriend had a pap smear done as her normal routine.  It came back that she may have a cancerous cell due to HPV.  She had surgery and the cell was not cancerous.

However, I am assuming she still has HPV, correct?  I do not believe this is the genital wart kind as I do not feel anything like in her, nor do I have any bumps on me.  Is it possible to develop warts later due to this?  If indeed there are two different kinds of HPV, and she has the one that is non-genital wart, what are the risks for a male?  Is it highly contagious, meaning is it even guaranteed that I have anything?  Should I get tested, although it wouldn't really make a difference now that I have still been sleeping with her for over a year?

Any advise is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

HPV infections typically last between 6-24 months, so the assumption that she can still transmit it may not be correct.

I agree with the above post.

if its the hpv strain that shows no symptoms and youve had sex with her and she has it that means you have it as well. there are no hpv tests for males because the no warts hpv doesnt effect the male you wont get sick or notice anything at all it will only affect women. you cant get rid of it or get tested because we have no technology for it yet.

and dont stop your sex life in fact id be best if you guys continue sleeping together and have fun because as long as you two are faithful you guys wont spread it to anyone else.

i got the same type of hpv from my boyfriend who didnt know he had it (got it from his ex) because all of his std tests came back fine. why? because they didnt and couldnt test him for hpv so when we got together we both didnt know this at the time and now i have the same thing his ex has. which sucks but at the same time its not the end of the world and sadly most people will get hpv or have it already and may not even know it
