Actually, I'll save you the trouble of sifting through his posts so you can get to the good stuff.

Start here and check out his angle.
Here you go marcusjune, check this guy out for his awesome take on the subject.

I think you will find you and him get along nicely on the subject.
I think every one of your posts needs to be counteracted with the readers just reading the expert doctors' views in the link to the right. I am trying to understand your motives for your quotes you keep posting, particularly in light of the fact that you do not seem to ask the doctors (pay $20 US) any question. I can only conclude you are trying to scare every new person on here who may not be aware of the credentials of Dr. Hook and Dr. Handsfield.
This is wrong. But that is my opinion. Why the editors continue to let this go is a mystery to me. I therefore feel it's part of my job to counteract your post with what the Dr's say or what the CDC site says.
Oh God, marcusjune, what is the point of all this? Now that you've hyped up some scare point, what is your suggested next step. I mean, you can't simply show up and cite some oral cancer quote without telling us what we should do now. What's the meaning here? I put a whole lot more stock in soscared's calculations than some study. Facts are facts man, HPV is very well most likely a factor in throat cancers, but running around misrepresenting the dangers is uncool. The fact is that hardly anybody gets that cancer yet nearly everybody 69s, if they're worth dating at least. Think how many real dangers there are out there in this world, real dangers that kill tens of thousands of people each year. I'll be damned if I'm going to zero in on one that won't even happen to me statistically and feels so damned good in accumulating that risk factor. I understand it's worth considering of course. I won't be going down on any prostitutes or super sluts, but this is really not worth hyping as far as I'm concerned. People come on this forum freaking out about HPV. They are misinformed and scared and very doomsday about their future. They need real facts and assurance that they are okay and will be okay because 99% of the time they will be. They need time to get educated on the virus so they can realize it's not what they were told it is and it doesn't look like the pics on google. It's up to us, those of us who have been around for a while to assuage that fear and calm them down so that they can relax and be hopeful, not full of fear. Focusing on this oral thing is counter productive.
I don't mean to jump on you, I realize you are new to this forum and don't realize. We, people like soscared and I and others are sick of this tired subject because it comes up often enough for us to have been through it three or four times already. No offense is meant to you if it seemed like there is any harshness to any replies. It's just that we've been there and done that with this topic. That is all.
Cheers,
1. For oral HPV, dentists and dental hygienists can recognize warts. For the invisible kind (high risk), they look for lesions. My hygienist says they are usually "star-like". My own doctor says once a year check for oral lesions is adequate. Dr. Handsfield (expert forum) thinks once every five years.
2. If your genital warts are low risk and not the invisible high risk, they won't cause cancer.
The number of oral cancer cases in the US in 2010 was around 36,000. Of those, 8,000 died of oral cancer. A significant number of those cancers are in smokers and heavy drinkers.

The number of people who engage in oral sex in the US each year is in the millions. Over a 30 year period that number becomes 30 times "millions" while the cancer cases become 30 times 36,000, again, a great deal of it from smokers / heavy drinkers.
Your odds are very low of getting oral cancer from oral sex is far too low. You have more of a chance of dying from a heart attack or some other cancer. Moral to the story: Minimizing risk is very reasonable, but if you are going to work hard to protect yourself from every calamity, you won't even step outside your house. Enjoy living!
There is a test dentist do called visilite they make you mouth wash some kind of vinegar after one minitue and do a ultravolite light and check for adnormal cells. One place in chichago do a thing called ora risk hpv DNA test. Not sure the procedure swab or fluid they send out to get tested. That test cost 180 dollars. That's all I could find right know I hope the best for everone and good health
