Pap test - never had one :S

So, in my other question, one of the answers suggested a pap test.  Now I know how a pap test is done, and I know what they are looking for...what I need to know is, does it hurt?  I've never had one and if my bumps don't clear up, I'm going to have to make an appointment for sometime in the near future to get my very first one done, and it would be nice to know what to expect it will feel like.

Thanks so much everyone.

Thanks Rainn, I will remember to ask for that.  The hpv test can be done on the same cell culture collected for the pap test during your exam though right?  They don't have to take two cell cultures, one for the pap test and one for the hpv test, do they?

The hpv test only screens for high risk not low risk.

Hey Kittykatt444,

I am a guy so I cannot comment on whether or not it hurts, but in addition to the pap test, you should ask for an hpv test. They are two separate things. The hpv test is more accurate as far as detecting the virus.

My Best,
Rainn
