minimum number of days for genital warts to appear?

On a Tuesday, I had unprotected sex. Three days later, on Friday, while checking myself I noticed what appeared to be a skin tag or a bump on the shaft of my penis. I went to the doctor a week later to have it checked out and the doctor said that it was HPV (Genital Warts). My question that the doctor could not answer was if the last person that I had sex with gave it to me or do the symptoms need more than 3 days to appear? The doctor wouldn't give me any information as he said there is no exact number of days. I have read that it can take several weeks or even years for the symptoms to show. Is it possible that it could have taken only 3 days or was it more than likely that I had contracted HPV before I had sex with my last partner?

The chances of warts appearing in 3 days after exposure is almost zero.  Average time is 6-12 months. The key word there is average. There are always exceptions to the rule but its extremely rare. Assume for now you got it a long time ago.
