Hello, I actually have been with this guy for the past 9 years. We broke up 4 years ago and have been having casual sex with each other. He's been in a relationship the past year, while still with me. Last year I was negative for all the STD's and HPV, now I'm positive for HSV-2 and have a possibilty of having HPV also. Im a mess. What I'm trying to understand is did I get these viruses when I was with someone else more than 2 years ago or does HSV only produce antibodies when a recent infection has occured???  I'm just trying to narrow it down to him or me. The confusion is driving me crazy. He says his current girlfriend was negative for everything and he was negative for everything 6 months ago. I've only been with him in the past two years....
help!

Hello, thanks for the response. I haven't been diagnosed yet, but I was diagnosed with a Low grade intraepithelial lesion with mild dysplasia on my PAP. Its very scary but I guess I'm just waiting on my biopsy results....
thanks again

Wow, lots of herpes questions lately on this board...

Sadly, I don't know that much about HSV beyond the basics, I'd try posting your concerns about herpes to the herpes or STD board, there are some very knowledgeable members there that can help you more than we can.

But now, unto the HPV, we can probably help you there.  What's the story with this, has your doctor diagnosed you yet?  What exactly is going on HPV-wise?
