Hello,
Warts are tumours or growths of the skin caused by infection with Human Papillomavirus (HPV).They are contagious when in contact with the skin of an infected person. It is also possible to get warts from using towels or other objects used by an infected person. In 90% of cases, the body’s immune system clears HPV naturally within two years. But, sometimes, HPV infections are not cleared and can have HPV even if years have passed since he or she had sexual contact with an infected person.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Hiya,
I understand how worried you are. I am not an MD but... Have had issues with HPV so I do feel for you.
Firstly... I have been told by my doctors that HPV can lie dormant in your system for years and reactivate randomly when it finds a trigger.
Next.... All it takes is a hand to brush against the wart and encounter a delicate genital area and bingo... Infection so.... I'd get it checked out and removed so its one less thing to worry about.
HPV is a virus so you may never know exactly how you got it ir how it got where.
You probably already know but there are 2 categories of HPV. High risk (cancer causing) and low risk (most wart types). Chances are you have one of the common low risk types so..... Even if you don't fight it off and get the odd wart that needs treatment... Put your mind at rest that according to the cancer council its prob a "low risk" strain and you and your partner may be inconvenienced but prob not harmed. :)
Hopefully your immune system will beat it but if not just be diligent. You sound like you care about the health if your prospective or current partners and thats awesome so respect to you mate and
Good luck. :)
