Wart or Pimple...please help!

Hey! If this ends up being kind of a long post I'm sorry but I just want to make sure I give as much information as possible to get the best answer I can get. I should first start off by telling you I have no insurance so going to my doctor just to have him look at something that could be nothing is NOT an option. Second I also have no car and the closest free clinic is miles away and that's if I can even be seen (big town, too small of a clinic), Ok this whole thing started when I had an abnormal pap. I ended up being diagnosed with a HIGH RISK strain of HPV. I am now waiting on the results of the biopsy. I have read in many places that HIGH RISK strains do not generally cause warts. This morning I noticed a small pimple like bump on my thigh (it looks like a mosquito bite or a pimple without a head). It is not all that close to my vaginal area. It does not look at all like any pictures I have found on the internet and it was not there on Sunday evening when I shaved (it is now wednesday) and before you ask I did not cut myself in that area. I should also mention that I have now ended up "cutting it open" with my fingernail while I was trying to get a better look at it, but before this happened it did not hurt, bleed or anything.

I put a warm compress on it and it seemed to go down so I'm pretty sure its a pimple. I should mention that it is on the upper thigh region but not super close to the genital area. But thanks for your help! I'm going to keep an eye on it but I'm not worried about it. Thanks again

Well we all panic when we find out we have HPV, or any other medical condition for that matter. I am sure your bump is nothing, just keep an eye on it and see if it resolves on its own.

As for your bf, men don't usually have any symptoms or issues. There are a few rare risks so make sure he gets his yearly exams just as you get your yearly paps. Also both of you should get your dental exams each year. Always tell docs about your history of HPV. Don't let this scare you, prevention is the key to good health.

Thanks. I've looked at the pics and my bump still looks different. They only did the test for high risk strains I believe, but they have told me that this does not effect my partner because he cannot get dyplasia. So I don't know if that rules out genital warts or not. But to be honest it doesn't even look like a normal wart, I'm probably guessing its just a pimple and I'm panicked about the whole thing!

Look at my pics for what my warts look like. Based on location I wouldn't think you have a gential wart. Wait for a week, see if it heals. Ask the docs office if they tested you to determine if you have high and low risk HPV strain (s). If they can tell you that you did test positive for low risk then you know you could get a wart. Dyplasia or cell changes are only the symptom of high risk HPV's.

Try not to worry about your bump, I have never seen anything about gential warts being in that area, maybe the upper thigh/groin and close to genitals. Sometimes on the buttock area but again I would think close to the anal area. Now you could have just a regular wart, I think they are usually on the hands and feet but if you google you will prob find they are found on other parts of the body.
