Warts?

About two months ago I woke up with a rough spot on the head of my penis - it was red and slightly raw. I had masturbated the previous night in a different manner and was sure this was the cause. Over the following two days I experienced pain. I checked my underwear and saw that the spot was now raw. Not sure what to do, I wrapped it in toilet paper and neosporin (yeah, I know this is pretty ghetto and a bad idea now). Finally, the spot healed after about a week. It was bloated, I assume from the neosporin. I kept it unwrapped for a week and then I started to get more irritation spots all over the head of my penis, some pin sized. They weren't all raised but one or two were. I applied hydrocortisone cream and they all dissapeared except for one spot.

The remaining spot looks slightly raised. I've been applying clotrimazole cream (jock itch) for the past 5 days and I THINK it's making a difference but I am not sure.

Am I worrying about nothing or do you think there is a chance of it being warts? I had an STD test done and the doctor said it COULD be warts or COULD just be some sort of infection, but it definitely was not herpes.

Please help!

The doctor I talked to was at the STD clinic. He said I'd need a biopsy to be sure.

I have a photo of when it was bad and there were dark red irritated marks all over the glans. Those are all gone now, just this remains. It almost looked like balantis however, I am uncircumcized. I suppose that wrapping my penis up in a warm wet environment could have caused this though...

So the doctor told you it MAY be a wart, then sent you on your way? That's no good. Even if you go to a dermatologist they'd be able to tell you if it was a wart. Make sure you explain you've been told it could be, and you need some sort of testing done. It's not right the doctor didn't do any more for you.

Any sexually active person is at risk of STDs, so your right to not rule genital warts out completely.

Yeah, maybe I should. I kinda want to get it biopsied if they can't give me a solid answer. It's so damn small if it's anything.

I've read that if it's a wart, it's more likely to appear on the shaft of the penis. Every photo i've seen of warts doesn't look like this, and I don't mean the ones you find when you search for them on google. I found a website that shows minor warts on the genitals.

Neosporin can cause allergic reactions in some boys and people can generally have a bad reaction to it. I think it's probably just irritation from the masturbation you describe and then all the creams you've been using to try and help it have not reacted well with your body. Maybe it would be useful for you to see a dermatologist ?

If it helps any, when I was using the hydrocortisone the inflammation would go away completely but the skin was still very slightly discolored. When I was erect, you couldn't even notice it was there. If I masturbate it gets irritated... so I've refrained from that while using the jock itch medication to see if it helps.

I just wonder if there's some correlation with me abusing the neosporin and wrapping my penis in toilet paper for a week strait but it has been almost 2 months now since and the original raw spot is completely healed.

Sounds like it's just from irritation, however if the doctor said it could be a wart, then don't rule that out. I'm surprised the doctor didn't do any further testing... you need to go back, maybe to someone different this time though
