I wanted to get a lump checked out, but didn't know what doctor to go to.. I don't want to go to a regular docotor and just get referred to a specialist, but I dont know what kind of specialist I should look to?

If you think you may have HPV, a dermatologist or urologist would be able to treat you. Some family doctors are not able to treat this disease and as you said would refer you anyway.

Most family physicians should be able to make the call on their own. You may want to consider seeing a doctor in an STD clinic or a dermatologist.
