What is this

When I first noticed these, I hadn't been sexually active for a few months, I was on deployment at the time. I showed our Coreman (unofficial doctor) and he told me not to worry. A few months later, after returning home, I showed him again. After a "thorough inspection," he told me I was overreacting. He diagnosed them as "Skin Tags." I did some reading, as I had no idea what they were, and have come to believe that they could be skin tags, or they could be HPV. He refuses to write me a slip to go to Medical for testing, and before I go spend the money elsewhere, I'd some input. I provided two pictures of the same area, they are enlarged pictures of the area under suspicion. The pictures are of the scrotum, I cropped the rest of the scrotum and penis away from the picture to try to keep this as unoffensive as possible.

I have 3 total, the other two are much smaller and very hard to notice. One on the right of my scrotum, one on the left, and on on the top of my penis near the base.

Thanks,
Mat09

I'm not a doctor. They do look like the pics of warts. Sorry, the Coreman is probably wrong, but of course look for an opinion from a professional. Bright side, if it is hpv... your immune system should take care of it eventually, and it won't kill you.

Go see a Dr. These warts are what is caused by the HPV virus. Most of the time they run their course. If you have sex with someone while you have the virus you can tranmitt it to the other partner in which it can turn into cervical cancer.

"Run their course," as in after I see a doctor, and get treated, it goes away? Sorry, but just curious as to what you meant.

Thanks everyone, I was having second thoughts about "Docs'" evaluation, and you all have clarified my doubts. I will definately make my way to a doctor.

Just to reply to your question, running its course could take some time depending on your immune system which is different for everyone. If you get it treated, it will take care of some of it, but you immune system will still need to fight off the rest.

Warts don't cause cervical cancer. It's very rare that a high risk cancer causing strain will cause warts. This is almost definitely a low risk strain.

Again, good luck and my sincerest thanks for serving your nation
