I also thought i might add this question and answer by Dr. H.
Q12. Im a male with HPV, my girlfriend is afraid that she will get HPV if she gives me oral sex, is this possible?
A. Oral warts are rare, despite the frequency of oral exposure to HPV and undoubtedly to warts themselves. The biological reasons aren't known, but whatever the explanation, the various HPV types take hold on certain parts of the body but not others. The situation is different in people with immune deficiencies. Newborn babies (whose immune systems are still in development) sometimes get warts of the mouth and throat from exposure to mom's genital HPV during deliver; and oral and facial warts sometimes are seen in people with AIDS. But most sexually active persons have nothing to worry about in regard to oral sex and HPV or warts.
This website doesn't seem legitimate. They're using sources from wikipedia. Thats not the only reason i say its legitimate.
I would follow the opinions of experts, because for now thats all we have. Not much research is done of the oral warts unfortunately.
I know how you feel, i hate it a lot. I would be cautious from online websites since they just tend to spew old and regurgitated information from various different websites or old information.
The reason i say this is because many doctors thought that HPV was a long term chronic virus which would cause constant outbreaks, this, however, is not true as new research has shown along with some more accurate and sensitive testing for HPV.
All i can tell you is that it is rare to get oral HPV, i can't say why or how it is rare, it just is. If you find any more info, please share.
