I had a pap smear 2 months ago and it was normal but I just got a phone call from my gyn and they told me that I have hpv and they want to see me in 3 months . I have had 3 children in the last 6 yrs and I have been married for 10 yrs . Can my kids have it to ?I have been reading different website and nothing says anything about if they can have it or not .

paps dont test for wart causing HPVs. If the Dr wanted to see you in 3 months time he probably just wants to check up on you, it wont be anything serious.

Its very unlikely you passed HPV onto your kids if you do have it. At he time it may of been dormant and therefore uncontagious which makes it even more likely you didn't pass it on.

Also if they told you that you have HPV it doesnt mean its genital warts there are many strains that dont cause warts.

Unless there was visible warts present at the time of deliver, I'm confident to say that you did not transmit HPV to your children.

Also HPV can be dormant for months or even years before you have an outbreak. In your case, did you have an outbreak or has it been asymptomatic the entire time? In any case, if there was no warts, there isn't a real justification for you to worry about it.
