can I blame my husband for being unfaithful

I did not have sex with anyone else in 14 years, then got Cervical Cancer. I just asked my gynocologist if I had HPV when I had the C-Cancer in 1989 after we were separated in 1985, he said yes. Yes, he said it lays dormant, but 14 years???? He just did my pap, and an HPV test, nothing now, but I am thinking by husband had an affair and gave it to me. Does anyone feel that way?

this was my situation.I was celibate for 10 years... prior to these 10 years there were what i believed to be mongomous relationships lasting 1-2 years.after this maybe had sex every 2-3 years always with condom.Dr.Hook stated to me that i was most likely re-introduced to a new strain of HPV when i broke my celibacy....i foolishly did not use condoms and believed my x when he said he'd been celibate for 3 years.i think he lied...and my family doctor and gynecologist agreed with Dr.Hook's theory.I tested positive for abnormal cells on cervix 12-06..no HPV then.....then tested positive for high risk HPV 6-06..last time having sex 9-06.I feel my x gave me the HPV.....i'd had clean paps for many years...and had bad ones after him...and he was the only one.

if u weren't tested for hpv with the cervical cancer...then one cannot know for sure if they've had HPV!i do not b-lieve HPV lies dormant for 14 years....the docs in this forum have a lot of articles to support that theory..and if it does it is minute/unknown at present and they state that as well.u and ur hub were seperated for a few years?what does ur hub say about being with others?r u with him now or not?what do u believe to be the truth if it would b known?
