It is possible that you could've infected your partner--truth by told, we'll never know. It is rare for someone to transmit the HPV strain that causes GW's if they've had no recurrences for a significant amount of years. Our immune systems will usually clear out the majority of HPV strains (including the two which cause 90% of GW's) within 2 years with the exemption for people with HIV/AIDS, cancer and patients who've recently under gone a organ transplant.
Viruses are usually in our bodies for life (whether HPV can be cleared completely, we still don't know) but our immune systems keep them under bay. For example, as children we acquire Chickenpox which has no cure but our immune systems are able to keep it dormant, the same can be said for HPV.
My advise to you is to consult with your family doctor and to make sure there are no internal warts present as they can be tricky to find by self-examination. Practice safe sex & good luck to you.
Yes you could've. Your body is good at keeping it at bay after all those years but the virus is indeed a virus and there is no cure. You are still capable of spreading it because you're still carrying it.
