has he cheated?

I have in the last two weeks noticed spots down below and been very itchy. i have had a test at doctors and currently waiting for results. i am pretty sure it is genital warts. i have been in a relationship for 12 and a half years and had 3 children and up together with smear tests, although due one soon. i have been faithful throughout. I have read that hpv can lay dormant for years but genetal warts not so much. how long can i have had them and does this mean my partner has cheated? i have had my doubts before but need to know. thanks.

HPV can hide in your system for many years. Whether someone gets warts within 6-8 months depends on how your immune system was at the time of infection. There are reports of beyond ten years for some women where suddenly warts appear for women who not sexually active in over ten years. So no, you do not know 100% if your partner cheated or not. Pregnancy does weaken immune systems and so the odds are very low that they are pre-relationship but not impossible as Drifter thinks.

i'm pretty sure that hpv shows up that year you get the virus i know where i got mine but with herpes it is untraceable to one person and genital warts is hpv not to be confused with genital herpes ok :)
