side effects of gardisil

Last week my daughter had the first gardisil shot.  A couple of days later she developed a marble size lump on her collar bone that is very easily moved around. The doctor thinks it is a lymph node and took blood, which came back normal.  She wants to wait and see what happens.  Since i am a breast cancer survivor, it is tough for my daughter to wait patiently.  Is this a reasonable side effect of this immunization?

Hi Darcy,

I have had the Gardisil shot and luckily have not had any side effects, I am going on my 2nd shot in a few weeks and will finish the series some time in December (what a great birthday present for me!) I would talk to the doctor about it but I'm pretty sure its not a side effect but I would definatly encourage your daughter to continue the shots. The only thing that I experienced so far was a slight burning after the injection (which the nurse told me about) and a sore arm which I typically get with series of shots.

best of luck

if its easy to move around its probably swollen lymph nodes if you get sick or have a sore in your mouth anything like that you can get them i have had swollen lymph nodes many times.. nothing happens it will go away on its own if its painful you can give her tylonol..
