tiny bumps. what could this be?

i have very tiny red spots/bumps on the head of my penis, around 3-5 of them. they are about the size of a pencil tip
i normally get it after i masturbate.

they may have been there before but i've never realized it.

it lasts for about half a day and then disappears.
they seem to come and go. and they are not getting bigger. same size.
it is hard to see them unless you really try to look at them, but when i stretch the skin on the head of my penis i can see slightly reddish spots and bumps on the head.
they DO NOT itch, burn or have an discharge.
i have Not been sexually active for 3 years so i know it cant be an STD. plus i got a blood test and the doctor told me they tested all STD.
but im scared it might be genital warts.

what could it be?

am i worrying for no reason?

i examine my penis ALOT, almost everything i use the restroom. it's driving me insane.
i have an appointment with a dermatologist in a few days to get a professional opinion.
until then, i was wondering if anyone else could help me.

Thanks

hello vandykd3,
I received my results 10 minutes ago and the good news is that i am NEGATIVE for HSV2.
I am soo happy, you have no idea.
I am however positive for HSV1, I am not too concerned about this since the doctor told me A LOT of people have it.
Since I am in college i may have contracted it from kissing someone, sharing cups etc. Maybe genetically.

I do want to thank you SOO much for helping me through this, I appreciate it greatly, you have no idea. I definitely feel like a new person, I can finally move on,
Thank You So Much Vandykd3,
Take Care

Thank you for the response,
I did get a test immediately after I left his office, I got a blood test. And I should be getting an answer within the next 2 days.
I did look and examined my penis today and it looked like normal tiny bumps, no blisters, no pain nothing. And believe me, i looked for symptoms
I'm seriously just scaring myself
But, I'm not too worried about it being positive. I'm pretty sure it will be negative.
But there is still a part of me that is a little nervous since i did take a test.
I will definitely let you know what the results say.
Thank you

Well, I'm no expert but surely doesn't sound like herpes.  Still, if it were me and my track record of suffering from the same STD anxieties I warned against, I'd go get the tests and then proceed to be hella worried until they came back negative.  I'm sure your tests will come back negative.  The associations with the symptoms are just too different.  Still, he probably doesn't have a clue what it is and so is throwing out ideas.  Try the shampoo, get the blood test and go from there.  If it's not an STD you really don't have to worry about it but rather investigate curiously until you find out what it is.  You may need several "experts" opinions before the truth is discovered.  Some are better than others unfortunately.  It's a process.

Hello Vandykd3,
I recently went to my doctor to check out the spots, and he told me it kinda looked like fungal infection, dandruff and possibly herpes.
I don't understand how it could possibly be herpes, since it doesn't hurt, it disappears after a few days and it comes back after i masturbate. Also, it doesn't puss.
And from my understanding, after i talked to a health nurse at a local Planned Parenthood. She said that herpes would show up no later than 5 months. And herpes sores blister up and are extremely painful.
And i have never gotten any such sores, unless these tiny pumps are.
Which I don't think they are.
However, he did tell me to get head and shoulders and wash my penis with it, and they should disappear.
So he told me to go get a herpes test. Just to be safe.
I know this is a forum for HPV, but since I've spoken to you about my problem, you can give me your insight.
Thank you

I'm glad you recognize the huge role the brain plays in all this HPV shite.  Imagine actually having it my friend.  There are dark moments to journey down and anxiety and fear and paranoia that's tough to tough out sometimes.  ONce you get wise to it though it's easier to see what's paranoia and what's normal rationing.  If you ever feel like 'you just know' something has got to be wrong even though all signs point to it's all good, then stop adn take another moment to recenter yourself and get rid of that crap.  Especially in your case.  You have absolutely nothing to worry about so don't you dare start worrying about it anew. You are all good down there, so let's keep it all good up there.  Good luck continuing to believe the truth.

Yes, most likely, more than not, symptoms would have shown up by now like two years ago or more.   You are fine and from the exposure you are worrying about there is almost no worry.  If you can't let it go, continue to seek treatment or counseling until you get that you are clear and all good.  Good luck to you.

Thank you so much for your help.

Last question,

If 3 years ago was the last time i had sex, would symptoms have already shown up for any STDs ?

Thankyou

YEs, stop examining yourself.  Do once a week or every two weeks and then just once.  The possibility of you manifesting warts after three years of no intercourse is not at all likely.  You can go on worrrying that you are that one half of one percent who did but where will that get you.  Like I said earlier, if you are having trouble resolving this fear, and it's not uncommon to have such troubles, go see a dermatologist and have him/her check it out.  Good luck

So from what you are saying it shouldn't be warts. And that is what is freaking me out.
And yes, the past three years i have not gotten any symptoms for warts. I just started noticing these bumps about a week or so ago.

Also since I do over inspect it, A LOT. I'm stressing myself out a lot. I should stop examining so much.

Thank you for your help :)

You are definitely freaking out too much.  You most likely were not exposed to genital warts three years ago, but even if you were, studies show that warts clear within two years, even without treatment it is very rare for warts to last three years or more.  Given the research and the statistics that have been produced as well as conventional wisdom on the mode of manifestation of genital warts, it is almost certain that you do not have them. If you want to trip, you'll have to find another fear.  :)  That being said, it could be PPP, I"m no expert.  My guess is you are over inspecting and latching onto any little thing you can't explain.  It is so woefully common that I you should take comfort in the fact that you have just acted like 90% or more of the population who has some form of STD scare, whether real or imagined.  If you cannot resolve this issue on your own in your head, then by all means, keep going to see a dermatolgist until your fears are alleviated... or you are proved correct.   But you won't be proved correct is my guess.  Good luck.  Being uncircumcised has not bearing as far as I can tell.

I forgot to mention that I am uncircumcised and I also have pearly penile papules. any chance that it could be PPP?
I haven't masturbated in a while but I can still see the bumps. But only when I really look at them.
I wore a condom when I had sex. And it was three years ago since I last had sex.
Maybe these bumps are irritation or normal bumps.
It still scare me though.
I might just be freaking out a little too much.

Relax

It is almost certainly not an STD and most certainly not warts.  Though I'm not expert enough to tell you what it is, your symptoms are just a response to your masturbating.  Stop worrying about it, stop checking yourself every time you whip it out, and just chill until you see the dermatologist.  You are worrying for no reason.

Feel free to post after your visit so future readers can understand the all too common mental freak out.  We all have done it.  It's incredibly normal to freak out.
