UTI's are fairly common after hysterectomy but it does seem odd that you only have pain at the end of urination. I wonder if it could be Interstitial Cystitis.
As far as the diarrhea, you've had a lot of antibiotics which can cause diarrhea. You should take a good probiotic to repopulate the good bacteria in your intestines. I also had diarrhea after my hysterectomy and it was awful and lasted a long time (over a year) but my gyn / surgeon refused to see me (even though he'd been my doctor for 20 years). I didn't see another doctor (a gastroenterologist) until about 9 months post-op. I didn't know to take a probiotic... wish I'd done that starting immediately post-op. My bowels have never been normal since surgery. :(
Diarrhea can also be a symptom of a hospital acquired infection which doctors hate to uncover because it reflects badly on them and the hospital and is a mark against the hospital.
Best of luck in getting these issues treated. Please write back and let us know how you're doing.
One last thing… I know I posted a lot and AutoCorrect fixed a lot of things for me that I wish it had it so forgive the typos and misspellings that I didn't catch but hopefully you get the gist of what I was saying .
And secondly I said everything I had to say about the UTI because I didn't know if they are possibly related to the diarrhea or not .
POST CONTINUED (#2)
I did tons of research before my surgery as to what to expect after and constipation was the number one thing I found , so I started taking an over-the-counter stool softener or a few days before my surgery. It took a good 3 days to have my first [very little] bowel movement which I figured was because the pain meds slowed everything down and because it hurt to push. Had my first really good BM five days post op that was normal and a lot... But as soon as the normal stopped, my next push to make sure I got everything was A TON of complete liquid that was clear with a hint of yellow in color. Almost 30 minutes after that I had it three more huge amounts of liquid , coming out of my butt. Ever since then I've been going to 5 to 6 times a day just like that ... I'm not talking about diary get your… I'm talking complete and total liquid . The first three or four times a day, it will be black and the last two or three times will be clear with the tint of yellow. I'm starting to get really concerned and it just wanted to hear if anyone has experienced the same thing. I wanted to make sure the antibiotics that I got last night helped the UTI before calling my doctor back and asking about this.
So sorry for all the information, just wanted to give everyone a full idea of what's going on and to see if anyone has experience the same thing . Would love any and all feedback so thank you and advance!
OMG THE IMPORTANT PART OF MY POST DIDNT POST! Ugh!! Here's the rest, POST CONTINUED (#1)
When I pee, the last three seconds or so, it is incredibly painful… Sometimes I even hold the last few drops in because it hurts too bad to push them out . I called my doctor and they suspect that I have a UTI from the catheter . They put me on an antibiotic yesterday night with no changes so far (I know it's still early. ( let me also add that while the last few seconds feel like a UTI, they are much different than all the UTIs I've ever had in the past, because rather than peeing a little, being painful from start to finish, ever few minutes, I'm peeing A TON, ever 30 minutes to an hour and it being severely painful, the last few drops).
Which brings be to my actual question... That I'll post in another comment, so I don't get cut off again
