7 Months Post Hysterectomy

Hello-

I had a "partial" hysterectomy in November of 2015 (cervix, uterus, fallopian tubes were removed-kept ovaries) and it seems like my hormones are crazier than ever now!  Before my surgery I suffered from palpitations, migraines, etc. around that time of the month.  Now my migraines are horrible POST surgery!  I was in the bed for 3-4 days last month because I could barely function without getting nauseated or dizzy and my head just pounded.  I can feel it starting to come back again today and I can't keep taking off of work.  I am also starting to get more palpitations, breast seem to be fuller...just a myriad of problems (depression, exhaustion, anxiety, etc.).  I hate to sound so negative but I was just wondering....is this normal?  I am only 44 for goodness sake :-).

Get a hormone panel done (blood work) see where your levels are at...sounds like you need hrt! When I had my hysterectomy with ovaries removed as well...it took a long time to get me to a somewhat stable place...and even 11 years out adjustments have to be made depending on what is going on in my life...so many things can off balance our hormones...also the Dr. who did my surgery was not the one to balance my hormones...he was unfortunately pretty clueless in that realm in my opinion so I found a naturopathic dr. to help me and now I just get them from my primary...so it can be work to get things figured out and to a better place...but blood work is the starting point!

The ovaries oftentimes do not function properly (and sometimes not at all) after hysterectomy due to loss of blood flow and feedback with the uterus. You may need some HRT.

Wow.   realized I put November of 2015-obviously it was 2014 lol.  I have had my thyroid checked but it was several years ago. Thanks for the insight!

I had that surgery some years ago and had my ovaries out over 15 years later.  It will take a while for your system to adjust.  In the mean time, I suggest you see an Endocronoligist and possibly get your thyroid checked also.
