Cramping

I had a hysterectomy less than 7 days ago.  All was taken but the right ovary.  I have cramping when urinating, standing and when sitting.  Is this normal? or?  What should I except while I'm recovering, so  i do not to worry.

Thank you very much for your comment!  The info on the urinary hesitancy was very helpful. That is the main symptom,  that is still there after taking the pain meds.

I have been searching the web for answers and never getting my question answered.
until I found Medhelp.

Thank you,

Hi..Welcome!

You have a good question..I will give you my opinion remember we are not Drs here.

The general rule is lots of off feet, laying on couch or bed for 6 weeks ( you gradually ease back into things..You sure cant help potty trips..try to limit walking..have family members bring you what you need for bedside/endtable...if no help available...make one trip...put tv remote, medications..large bottle water, snacks,a sandwich etc...on table...this will limit needs to get up..dont try sitting too much for now its only been  7 days.
Imagine whats happening to your insides..many sutures healing, bodys in distress from surgery..and the void left by hyster is filling with shifting tissues..fat, muscle, maybe some shifting of lower bowels. Your bodys working hard now...

also it is very common to have urinary hesitancy after a hyster...if yours turns to burning pain, w/ or wo a fever see dr immediatley.also if you see blood from urthera.

Good luck
