I have been for my check up,the doctor was great with me this time, think because he had heard about my complaint,I have still got problems with my bladder and the numbness and he has said he will see me again in a month, then he will decide if anything needs doing,he said it may all come together I just need longer to heal,as for the HRT he has said again I need to see my own doctor, this has been a night mare because when I rang doctors she said I should see him,but after a long discussion she has at last seen me and but me on HRT,fingers crossed this will sort the hot flushes and my mood and I can get back to normal life and work. Will have to wait and see if my bladder improves and my feeling returns in my pelvic bone area.

Hi, appologies for my lateness in response, your symptoms are shouting nerve damage, something likely happened during surgery, you may be refered by your dr to a neurologist would not shock me.

I have heard so many post op comments of left side abd pain it seems to usually go away on own, Im far more concerned about the numbness you describe,,please go to my home page and read my list of pre-post op (only need the post op now) hints its very very important you do not get constipated, Im wondering if your taking any narcotic pain meds, rarely they can contribute to numbness, if yes do mention this to dr.

My doctor nicked my ureter during surgery and didn't feel he needed to tell me even though there was blood in the cath bag and I ask the nurse's. I found out after when I decided to get my records. I was having the same problem as you. I would just pee. Anytime, anywhere. No warning. It would be good to get your records. They should tell you what happened.

I'm so sorry to hear the hospital you went to is being investigated. It does'nt sound like a very good hospital. What about your Dr? Has there been any complaints about him/her?
You should have had a 6 week checkup already so I hope you can find another Dr to see you soon.
What your going through does'nt sound normal to me. You should be able to tell if you need to urinate. Numbness at the scar site is not uncommon but the pelvic area being numb sounds suspicious.
Can you call another Dr today and get an appointment? Take care. Remar

Have you been for your 6 week checkup yet? Can you say why you needed a hysterectomy?
At 6 weeks you should be feeling better. It does take some women a long time to heal though.
Are you saying your also numb in your anal area?
I wish I could be of more help to you. I had the same surgery you did and I have no numbness any where, not even my scar.
I know our Hysterectomy CL Cherie can answer your questions. Take care. Remar
