Fibroids Heavy Bleeding - Hysterectomy

Re-doing question -spelling in first one. Heavy(hemmoraging periods last one 42 days)
Cannot do the traditional birth control route - severe reaction to first pill. 4 Fibroids in muscle? Enlarged uterus 12 weeks size. Waiting for MRI test in Feb. Told not a good candidate for ablasion.  So... option is hysterctomy. Anemic cannot get iron up.  Tests  -biopsy, colonoscopy and Vag.Ultrasound. Blood work thyroid normal B12 high, below 5 ferritin, low hem 105. Taking 2 iron pills. Anemia causing red blood cells to shrink in size. Thickiening of uterus lining.  Waiting for next mense to start age 46 told was in perimenapause. Hoping maybe I'm done bleeding? wishful thinking. My iron stores wont go up anxious about next bleed, Told last time 42 had to take tanx acid to stop the bleeding in ER or blood tranf was needed. took pill it stopped.
Question-  advice on hysterectomy, going into surgery with anemia. In Mississauga, Ontario cannot be referred to 2nd gyno as much as I would like to. Althoug if anyone out there knew of a Great gyno in this area I would call myself.  Thanks new here and very very nervous (sign of anemia is anxiety I already suffer from it!)

I'm so sorry that you can't get a second opinion because that's what I was going to recommend when first starting to read your post. It's something I did myself before I had my surgery and always recommend to all the women here facing surgery.
It sounds like if you do have the surgery they will only be taking the uterus and leaving your ovaries? That should mean that you may not need to take hormones because your ovaries will still be producing hormones, for awhile.
Why are they waiting for your next period when you have the chance of losing so much blood?
There is a medication, I took it to stop my periods for 6 months to see if my endometriosis would clear up. I'm wondering if this may be an option for you to get your anemia under control before the surgery? Ask your Dr about it.
