I have numerous health problems ie: PAD, Artheriolsclerosis, Factor V Leiden, high potassium and cholesterol.  I have severe right side pain.  Fibroids on the outside of uterus and cyst on right ovary.  It is feasible for me to have a hysterectomy.  Doc wants to put in an IUD but with all of my blood clotting problems I do not think this is a good idea.

Thanks,

I would recommend one. I see no reason that anyone should be in pain if a hysterectomy can fix it.

Hi Michelle,

I had cysts for years on my ovaries. Recently, my GYN found several large lumps in my uterus, they were fibroids. It ended in a hysterectomy, and me havig uterin cancer. I had been fighting for this hysterectomy for years, but I was always told I was too young and that I might want to have more children. 1 child, many burst cysts, and 3 miscarriages later, they still wouldn't do a hysterectomy. I sought out a lot of different opinions, and they all came to the conclusion that I was "too young". It took ten years, a good OB/GYN, and a lot of me suffering, to get the hysterectomy I needed. If you are young they may try to force you to wait. Remember, you are in control of your body and care. You have a legal right to demand the procedure be done instead of an IUD. Besides, every girl I know that got an IUD has had nothing but problems with it. One of which, had an IUD put in and the doctor never checked to see if she was pregnant first. It caused severe problems and her baby was born prematuraly. Get a second opinion, from an OB/GYN if you are seeing a regular doctor. That's what I had to do. this is your body and your health. You should be allowed to decide what you want to happen to it. Good luck, and I hope you find the answers and solution you are looking for.
