Hormones after total hysterectomy

Hello,
I was wondering if any of you all have been put on hormones after a total hysterectomy.  My doctor says there are too many risks and I don't need them...I am 38. I don't know what to expect here 2 weeks after surgery, I keep waiting for a hotflash or something weird to happen. :) What can happen if I don't take them? I've had nightmares of growing hair on my face or my voice getting manly. Are my fears real?  Can anyone share their experience or knowledge about hormones?

Thanks,
Sippy

I am 38 years old and it has been 5 years since my total hysterectomy, due to endometriosis. I too quit using the patch (Combi-Patch) a month ago. I can't sleep, due to hot flashes, fatigue has set in and I'm very moody. I've lost 10lbs, eat better and exercise, thinking this might help manage all the symptoms, but no such luck. I too worry about bone loss and all the other things that come along with not using HRT. Is there a way to manage the symptoms and side effects without hormones? All of the information I have read is so contradictive.

I had a complete hysterectomy too may 2011. Cervix, uterus, ovaries all gone. I'm struggling with insomnia, night sweats, hot flashes and sadness over not being able to have more children. I haven't tried hormones yet but thinking I may need too......

I am 37 yrs old and I am having a total hysterectomy in about 2 weeks, is ther anything that I should worry about? I have both Adenomyosis and  endometriosis , I was told I will need to go on hormone replacement because they do not want me to jump right into menupause. I have already had my thyroid removed about 2 yrs ago due to papulary cancer and is on medice for that. My real worry is about the things I see online and have heard about cancer and was wondering if there was anything else i can take and even if I really need to take replacment therapy.

DO NOT USE PREMARIN  !  FIRST OF ALL IT IS FROM THE URINE OF A MARE (A HORSE) AND THEY KEEP THESE POOR HORSES PREGNANT ALL THE TIME UNDER HORRIBLE CIRCUMSTANCES. THEN, WHEN THEY ARE DONE WITH THE, MOST OF THEM GO TO SLAUGHTER OR BAD HOMES. THERE IS MORE TO IT TOO. PREMARIN HAS BEEN PROVEN TO CAUSE CANCER IN WOMEN. SPECIFICALLY BREAST CANCER.  SO USE BIOIDENTICAL HORMONE CREAMS, ESTRO AND PROGESTIN.  THEN AFTER 6 WEEKS OR SO, ASK YOUR DOC TO DO A BLOOD TEST TO TEST YOUR HORMONES.
