Pre surgery jitters..

I posted here a couple weeks ago maybe sooner and got lots of feedback and seemed to make some friends so i figured I would give it another go. Well in a weeks time im haveing a complete hysterectomy. I soooo didn't know they could even take your cervix. I guess my question is how do you keep the other organs from fallin out? I know prolly a dumb question but, it kinda freaked me out. lol My doc made my nervousness all but go away today when i was there, he is a really good doc. it was my bad not asking. I figured someone out here might know. Thanks so much for even reading if you don't know maybe we can learn together. (^=

Can you please tell me what kind of procedure you had and how the pain was afterwards? I need to get everything removed. I have grade 1 uterine cancer. Which they say I will fully recover from. Not worried about the menopause stuff cause I am already 55 and have been going thru meno since my late 40's.

Yes, hope your recovery is quick and relatively pain free.  I had my uterus and cervix removed about 7 yrs ago.  I kind of wondered how the cervix is removed too.  Well, as Cherie says, top of vagina is stitched closed.  I had sex, was too curious if it would still feel the same, before I was healed and had some minor bleeding.  So avoid sex til the Dr gives you the okay.  I healed fine and sex is the same!

Hey Jitterbugg, had my cervix out when I had uterus out in 2001, then as you know ovaries 12 weeks ago. Somehow gravity must only affect the outside stuff hahaha. Wow, your mind is really workin overtime, its just something I never thought of. Anyways, it all stays in, so don't fear. For some reason thought your op was today!!!
