Thickening of the Lining 10cm question

Last june I went in for my  yearly. Pap normal, but had been having some post menopausal spotting the last couple months. I am 55 yrs old, overweight, for statistics. I have thyroid issues, i have taken levothyroxine for over 15 yrs. Most that time thyroid is stable. The doctor i saw said lets get a ultrasound. Which resulted in a few fibroids ( seemed unconcerned) but thickened lining to 10 cm. Said we can do DnC. So i didnt get that scheduled til October do to money reasons. After which I had to change doctors again due to insurances before the surgery so had to start that process again. Now im waiting for my schedule date of DnC proceedure. Now the DnC is to treat the diagnoses of 10 cm lining, to thin it and check for cancer.  Approx a year before that I had probably my last period very heavy and long and at that time I had a endometrial biopsy done which was negative.  My concern now is all this waiting to get this proceedure done (due to red tape). Can it affect my health since it could be cancer, and be growing and how fast if there was cancer?
Im terrified that Im sitting here waiting while possible cancer is growing. They may not even be able to schedule me for a month, this is affecting me stress wise just the waiting. How concerned should i be about this diagnosis and the wait for treatment? Any help would be appreciated, to relieve my mind since the new doctors office are very uncooperative in helping relieving my worries.

I completely understand about the whole insurance thing. My husband and I run our own business and have to pay for our insurance which is'nt the best.
Try not to worry, I know, easier said than done. Keep calling the office asking for your procedure date.
I'm always here if you want to talk. Take care. Remar

Thanks for answering my post. I will call them again Monday. I asked on Friday after 2 calls to the office, on pressure to get my proceedure date, that I was concerned on how this is affecting my health. All i got was from the girl was I do understand.. but someone will get back to you next week. If i had my choice and had money id have gone to a non hmo dr. office. but it would cost me like 1500.00 or could be 2000ish for the proceedure with partial payment with Health plan of nevada. ( worse insurance ever) So meanwhile all i can do is wait and have this in the back of my head that if its cancer and not treated its growing. I like many other americans are faced with choices between prolonged life decisions that are due to money and insurance coverage. IF only they would pass the no pre existing health care reform bill. That would force ins companys to let us choose better care then what they are giving us.
Anyway I will keep posting on here til i find out the answers ..
I appreciate any positive notes. Thank you

I would think your Dr could answer this question for you. I'm really surprised he did'nt say if your health would be effected if you wait a month.
You did have the biopsy done a year ago and it was negative so that's great.
Can you call your Dr on Monday and ask him/her this question? Tell them your concerns and that you want to know when they're going to do the DNC.
Please keep us up to date on how your doing and take care. Remar
