Robotic Hysterectomy

Ok.. so I'm scheduled for surgery. .... Next week!  But, I'm wanting more info on the robotic surgery.  I have researched it... all it says is recovery is much easier and quicker.  How quick?  Like my dr says I can go back to work in a week???  Has anyone had this done?   If so.. how did it you recover?

Hey there, wow great news on the no cancer !!! I am so happy for you,

Of corse the Robotic is still surgery I do apologise if I indicated otherwise. Its just the best option in my opinion, I have guided women through other options and it is more difficult,

Your poor sis, wow most docs do a lap atleast, many dont know the robotic yet. it is still relatively new.
Glad your sons helping you, my boys where a  great help too, you sound in great spirits, just remember please dont over do, although your feeling pretty good, and the incisions are tiny, your anatomy is changing, the void is filling with muscle/fat, intenstines, things shift, thats the reason to still be careful, but I get a feeling you know that. Be kind to yourslef you deserve a little pampering!!!
If I can answer any questions or help in anyway at all let me know...I will be off here the 23-30 for neck surgery, will have a great sub though..all the best. and ty for the positive encouragment to other ladies.

Ok.. so the robotic surgery is really a breeze.. just keep in mind it IS surgery!  I really don't have much soreness.  I did have some gas pain in my shoulders soon after I woke in recovery.  But...I had surgery on Monday and I really feel great.  My belly isn't really as sore as I thought it would be.  My instructions are activities as tolerated.  But, I am taking it easy just to be sure.  I only have to miss a week of work.  I can get up and down easy.  No problems going to the bathroom either.  So.. I would recommend this as an easy option to anyone if they get to choose.  My sister just had the old fashioned surgery with an 11 inch cut... OUCH!  NO WAY!  Robotic is the way to go!!!!!!!!!  I'm doing laundry today... getting ready to go groc. shopping with the help of my son to lift anything over 20 lbs for me.  Good luck!  And by the way.. NO CANCER!!!!!!  YAY~~!!!!

when you typr in your search dont just put Robotic hysterectomy, its actually called the "DaVinci Robotic Assisted Hysterectomy

questions like how quick are hypothertical, never speculate as to what could happen,. normlly its going to be 5-6 weeks but not such difficult weeks as other methods,
a robotic assited allows for the most precise tiney incisions, cauterisations etc,,,uses laporotomy tubes to allow robot assisted tools in , dr views on a comupterised screen the most tiny vessels , things he would have great diffficulty seeing before,
ther is less risk of blood loss, less heal time, less pain, It is the state of the art way to go,,,I had this type I was walking the next day.  I have a list of pre and post op hintys on  my journal page.
