I am 57 and I was taking Ogen, estropipate tablets. In July, my gyn took me off that and put me on an estrogen creme, two packets per day, one in the morning and one in the evening;which I was supposed to ween myself off of. I had cut the dosage to just one in the evening and I was going away for a w/e and the pharmacy was out of the prescription so I had none to take with me. Since I was off of it for three days, I thought I would try going without it. That was Oct. 10. The first week a had a couple of severe headaches but this last week I have had one every day, with the most severe needing two Maxalt tablets and two advil. My gyn, I guess, thought it was time for me to stop. ennaoj
hahah I was JUST going to say HI MARY!!!!
I anticipate that I will never go off of Estrogen. But, having said that, I have done a ton of research on this topic and I have found that doing the leg work has paid off. I am constantly amazed at how many bodily functions require estrogen. I believe the number is 400.
See my post above at the very end of the thread on Hormones after Hysterectomy. I recommended a book in that last comment that I would not be without. This is a huge topic and it is so helpful if you have a good understanding of the type of estrogen you want to use and the levels you should maintain, etc.
My best to you.
Mary
How old are you? Why did you stop? What type of estrogen were you taking?
I sometimes get headaches when my estrogen is wearing off.
