Having the pain gone and being able to get on with your life will by far be worth it.Thats my side that I am looking forward to. Ive been on a waiting list to go earlier if anyone canceled. Just want to get it over with and on with the healing process.

I am with you on the stressed about the surgery! I am only 40 and haven't been through menopause - but I am sick and tired of being in pain all of the time. I found a site called hyster sisters that has a lot of information about pre and post op planning and experiences that might be helpful. I printed out the "what to ask the doctor" list for my pre surgery appointment. It gives some good advice. I hope everything goes well. This isn't my idea of a good Christmas present!
I dont know about you but I am really stressed about this surgery. I am 57 and have already gone through the menopause thing. The only hormones I take is a little estrogen vaginal cream for better lubrication. Otherwise Im fine. Since I am having my ovaries out I am a bit worried about my bone health and heart disease. I have been working on a healthy heart diet, have lost 15 lbs and am working out for the osteoporosis. Hope it helps. Yes, please (if your up to it) let me know how you are doing.

Thanks - I guess I'll share my experiences before you get yours - so I'll try and share any info you might need :)
I am having the same da vinci hysterectomy and ovaries removed on Dec 30. I have looked at a journal from Cherie762 with pre and post op tips. It is very informative. Cherie has also had the da vinci hysterectomy and if you have any concerns she would be best one to contact. I have asked pretty much the same question as you on this thread and Cherie is the only one who has answered. Im guessing that not many have had the da vinci method.
Good Luck to you and your recovery.
