yes, it is very normal to have pain such as described during the healing process...the muscles and nerves are all affected by surgery! Burning is usually nerve and stabbing, pinching and so on muscles...When I had my first surgery when those nerves began to wake up the pain almost brought me to my knees...by surgery number 8...I am pretty well versed on what to expect and it's normal for all sorts of things to happen during the healing phase...but I always suggest if in doubt ALWAYS call your surgeon! Let them take a look if for no other reason then to ease your mind!

I have many many women complain of groin pain post hysterectomy. However I do not feel it is normal. Especially when you use the word severe. If it was mild Id say it could be from the surgery or position on table or even from the catheter.

Severe...could be a neurlogical problem a nicked nerve or perhaps a UTI , UTIs are quite common post surgery. Best get checked asap.

Good luck
