how does this happed

I am a 35 year old women that has had her share of problems.  In June of 08, I went in for a lap procedure and uterine ablasion for endometriosis.  After that procedure my doctor put me on Lupron depot treatments for 6 months.  During the six months of treatment, I was diagnosed with having a rectoclye and a cyctocyle.  I then in December of 08 went in for a vaginal hystorectomy and both of my other issues repaired.  How does this happen at my age? Is it common?

Thank you for responding to by post.  Were you ever treated with Lupron?  They did not sling my bladder because of the possible side effects (having to cath) I seem to be doing fine with that.  My problems now are hormone impalance, so i am dealing with depression and anxiety.  Not sure what is causing that, but i hope my doctors get it figured out.  I hope your health problems you are having now are something your doctors can take care of for you without much trauma.  Sounds like you have been through plenty!

Hello, I am 28 and had a hysterectomy 4 years ago for bladder and uterus prolapse. I currently have a bladder sling in place but still have problems with urination and often have to self cath. I too like you wonder how did this happen and why at such a young age. My doc could not offer any reasons but did say I was her youngest patient. I also am having other medical problems and wonder if they are related.

Hi there Jules and welcome,
You have come to the right place for answers about hysterectomys, You will find many compassionate women here who have been through similar situations as yourself.

Endometroisis is very very common sometimes even teenage girls have it, Very sorry to hear you had both a buldging bladder into vaginal area ( cytocele) and the other retro, where the rectum buldges through into vagianl cavity, quite a bit for a woman your age to go through.

Of course the two issues would be resolved during a vaginal hysterectomy, I am of corse not a doctor, but as for a theory on how this happened I have two ideas, you likely had andeomysis as well and your uterus was quite enlarged, or you may have had some trauma from Lap that you where not aware or informed of...in any case the important thing is your isssues have been repaired and your doing well?

Age doesnt seem to be fair in issues of gyno health, ther often is not a rhyme or reason things just happen..Have you kept your ovaries? It sounds as such if not you will need some hormones, and if you did keep them you may still need hormones, the removal of uterus seems to often slow down or effect the hormone levels...I wish you all the best. please post anymore questions and I will be happy to help..
