hysterectomy and gallbladder removal still in pain

I had a LAVH kept ovaries, at the end of June and 2 weeks post op I developed a pain in my right abdominal side that radiates into my back (the pain is right above my hip bone).  Had CT scan and bloodwork wich all was ok.  Only had UTI infection and put on antibiotics and was told the pain was part of the recovery.  I continued to have the pain as well as total loss of appatiete.  At 6 week checkup was sent for ultrasound which showed gallstones.  Had surgery last Wed for removal of gallbladder, was sent home with cathater for 2 days.  The pain is still there but only worse and I still have no appatiete. The pain is worse when laying down and taking deep breath or coughing. Do I just need to give it more time or is this all something else?

Hello
I had and hysterectomy in Jan 2011 and on July 5th I had my gallbladder removed. For my gallbladder prior to the removal I went to a website the ER provider directed me to and I'll share with you: Gallbladderattack.com.  This website has practicle wisdom and recipies that help. I still have residual nausea, pain in the right shoulder and midback and some days I am constipated.  I think the link is hormonal in association with the gallbladder attack.  We are still producing bile and we just cant seem to get it out of our system properly.  Some acquantances shared there experiences and stated that it took them 5 months to get back to normal.
I plan to use the gallbladder after sx removal kit and I hope it helps my enzymes and cleans my liver removing backed up slugde.  I will also call my gynecologist or primary to tell them about my hormone concerns.

Hi,
First let me say how sorry i am that your hurting so badly, its not fair to have so many issues at once I know ! been there, as they say this will pass, i will do everthing in my power to help you.

I had my gallbladder removed 10 years before my hyster so I do understand both surgeries from a personal and medical view point.
You have had two major surgeries since June even though they were Lap, was the gallbladder lap too, I hope so !!

Thats quite a bit for the body to handle, yes pain is part of any surgery and recovery unfortunate but true. You should be getting some help with pain relief medicine.
How are your bowels, sorry to ask , but Im wondering if they are moving, narcotic pain meds can really mess the intestines up and make a person very very constipated which can cause great pain.
Pain that start in front and radiates to back is classic gallbladder symptoms, but yours is removed , so makes not much sense, Has your appendix been checked, how about pancrease and liver, other than that right quadrent is intestines,
I am curious why . why the cath at home? Most drs shy away from caths as they tend to cause UTIs which you have, and are on meds for. correct,
You have been through heck my friend 2 surgeries and a uti in just over a month and a half..be good to yourself,,try eating a soft food diet, low fat easy to digest for a few days.If your bowels are not moving ask dr and try colace with his/her permission.
try not to lifft anything heavy and avoid heat, as in hot showers etc, it increase swelling.

i really wish you the best, I think you need to be a couch potatoe for a week or so, It sounds like your informing dr of all symptoms, if you continue to have this pain try another dr for a different view point.
Also with your situation, if the pain gets to level 7 and is not helped with pain med, if you get a fever above 101, if you notice swelling, redness at incision sites that was not there before, Id go to er, just my honest opinion.
