I am fairly new to this forum but I have enjoyed all the information I have gotten from everyone. I had a complete hysterectomy in June 2006 and have not felt the same since. I just this week finally found a dr in my area that is going to get me on some bio indenticals. I am so excited to try this as I have heard so many great things about them!
It can happen, RARE the most common problem but also rare for intestines is they can be nicked during surgery thus allowing bad pathogens into the abdominal cavity thats the reason for most drs ordering the oh so lovely pre op clean out. ( I hate that stuff,,,but get that it is important)
Endometroisis is a bugger to deal with can land most anywhere attach things to parts that should not be that way, my uterus had to be "peeled off bladder" and my one ovary was "engulfed in endo tissue attached to bowel" they careful and it took time removed the ovary and uterus. bladder and bowel were fine.
above posters story has happened to some bowel resection can happen for many causes.
if you have any more questions do please post!!
All the best to you,
Cherie
My mom had to have a bowel resection when she had her hysterectomy. Her surgery lasted over 4 hours and they had to call a general surgeon in to work on her bowels. She has been fine ever since. I also had a hysterectomy and had endometriosis. I did not have any bowel issues and my surgery was less than 2 hours. I had a gyn/onc. do my surgery. They have 3 more years of surgical training and are better at removing the endo and of course cancer if that it a concern. You may want to find an endo specialist or gyn/oncologist to do your surgery.
Good luck,
Teresa
