hysterectomy

I had a complete hysterectomy last Nov. I am on hormones but, my problem is I can't achieve an orgasm I don't know what to do. I don't know if it's mental or if my hormones are messed up.I also have a problem getting aroused. It feels like I am going crazy.

I too would suggest that you need to have your hrt reevaluated. I take a shot that contains two testosterones and one estrogen. I must tell you it makes you want sex all the time. There does have to be a good balance though, because too much testosterone can cause hair growth on places we don't want it.

What type of hormones are you taking? Are you on Premarin? Or on any other synthetic hormones? Or on the vaginal ring? or the Vivelle patch? Estratest? Bioidentical Progesterone? And, what about testosterone, either gel or cream, which we women can use "off-label" but some formulas can be put on the cliteral/genital area and work wonders regarding the issue you mentioned. The other thought is that if you are on a synthetic hormone drug for estrogen, you might not be getting that hard-to-pinpoint feeling of "feeling feminine" and so if this is the case, you might need to advocate for yourself and do the necessary research to look into another type of hormonal treatment unless you are lucky enough to find someone who really knows what they are doing regarding bioidentical hormones and the need to balance them all out in your system. Testosterone is not just for libido.]

I can get more info for you if you want, but I cannot leave you a message since you don't have a profile yet. You can look at my profile and sift through posts....I sat in my OB/GYN's office in tears four months after my hysterectomy (in 2000) complaining that my sexual like as I'd known it was crumbling quickly. He immediately ordered the testosterone for me and it did help very much, yet it was not until I was totally balanced with all three hormones (progesterone, bioidentical only, estrogen ..Vivelle, and testosterone) that I felt whole again.

Hope to hear back from you! Things can be better!
