Hi there,
I would get a full check from an Endocrinologist. I had my hysterectomy in July and have gained about 4 kilogram(8.8 pounds) since the surgery. I found I put on most of this after the surgery when I was not able (and couldn't) do much.
Mind you, I have joined the gym since and do high energy exercise and a bit of weight training. This has maintained my weight. I also swear by other alternative treatments by applying hormone balancing oils topically like Germanium and Clary Sage(in a carrier oil like olive or grapeseed oils). I also use Fennel essential oil which is excellent for Fluid retention which occurs after a full hysterectomy. However, the oils must be good quality. Another thing I do is not to deprive my body of fats i.e good oils likee flax seed oil and olive oil. It's all good to have a low carb diet and we need this type of food group for an immediate energy source but we need to eat them with protein to slow the absorption of carbs so that they are gradually used. If we eat too much carbs at once, the unused carbs are converted to fat and stored in places we don't want them! Also by eating "good fats" they actually promote healthy circulation and help get rid of that stored unhealthy fat we have stored, They are also rich in omega 3 and 6 fatty acids essential for our overall well being. Remember, eat unprocessed carbs with lots of protein, not alone! Have a regular exercise regime(as u prolly already do) and be patient - it does take time. Its taken me two months to lose 2 pounds but I figure thats better than nothing. All the very best to you, Kind Regards, Trishy
you could choose to see a Endocrinologist to check all hormone levels thyroid pituatary, female...but the reality is when recovering most women consume the same amount of calories as norm however activity is near zero
. During recovery, which averages 6 week most people use much less calories With the exception of the first week in which they may lose weight,) pain and need for lots of sleep) adverage weight gain almost 10 lbs.
Hormones can play a small role. Estrogen by mouth can cause salt retention which in turn causes fluid retention .( 3 lbs.),some hormones also stimulate the appitite,,this is all important to discuss with Dr
ultimatley when your completley healed and dr says your ready you will have to decrease calories and add exercise ask Dr what exercise program is best for you
and yes, most all women get a bit of weight gain some more some less adv 10 lbs
