keep or remove ovaries

Would you keep or remove your ovaries when having a hysterectomy? I'm coming to the end of menopause.

If you really are at the end of menopause, I'd probably consider taking everything. I had uterus removed nearly nine yrs ago, and felt great til the ovarian cysts came last year. I feel like I now have officailly lost 12 months quality of life, as I suffered for 7 months with pain, then had BSO November last year with stage 1A OVCA diagnosed, and will only be starting back at work next week, 4 months post-op. It's a really hard decision.

that is a very hard choice..many retain because even post menopause hormones trickle just a bit...personally I had mine removed reason..had , had tons of female troubles and thought take em then I will not have to worry about cysts or ovarian cancer,,,,which must be found very very early to be hopefull for a full recovery.
