I was scheduled for a lap/assisted vaginal hysterectomy on 12/19. The doctor inserted the first scope into my belly button and when he was inserting the second one into the right side of my abdomin he shoved the scope through the artery in my abdomin. I was wondering how common this is. Once this had happened he had to go into my abdomin to be able to locate the artery to stop the bleeding and finished the hysterectomy abdominally and I had to be given 3 pints of blood and was told that he wanted my body to replentish the rest. I am now 3 1/2 wks post op and still having major discomfort if I stay in the same position to long, walk or stand very much and am staying real tired when laying down it is impossible to get comfortable because any position I am in is painful. When I urinate I have severe bladder pain as well. Does this sound about right for what I have been through or should I be concerned that I'm not feeling better? I take tylenol, advil or something of the sort daily but it doesn't seem to help much.
Just looking for ANY answers. I can't find ANYONE that has been through anything close to what I have.
Thanks,
Catrina
