It actually was the stictches! Thanks so much. I notice small pieces still falling out and it is much better over just this amount of time. Thanks sor the suggestion, I didn't even have to go back. She had originally told me there were some still in but at that point I hadn't noticed anything. Happy and relieved that I have been able to get it resolved.
Madge- Im not sure I agree with you, usually fever accomopsnud infection but not always, I just had a double ear infection, pain and was vomiting but no fever, I have seen fever with no infections and infections with no fever . Your right it is the norm, just not the always. !!! Yep we agree on the biggie she sould be on the phone asap call your dr, please let us know how you are !!
Yes a "foul" smell most definately can mean infection, however you would expect a fever to accompany that as well. However, hysterectomy does have an ammonia smell from desolving stiches as well. If you check other posts of women having the same thing you will see that it is something we have had in common. No one is suppose to take these posts as gospel, after all you have to use common sense if you think its an infection call the doc. Good luck.
Well Im to the belief that a very foul odor is often a hint of an infection,If its that noticable, you would be wise to get to you gyn, also you should not be inserting anything into your vagina at this point, not till after post op.,.do you have any pain or discharge?? Id at the very least call and speak to the dr or his top nurse, Ive heard of people getting really bad infections much better safe than sorry.
That is present with the stitches dissolving, and should go away soon. I remember it was not pleasant. I thought it was more an ammonia odor. My surgery was Feb and the odor is gone but I still need panti liners for what the doc said was still present stitches, I think its urine. I think it is getting less all the time though so maybe he is right. I hope so.
